The first book I ever wrote was aged 11.  It was about a girl who found a stray poodle and adopted him.  When my dad pointed out people were unlikely to abandon a pedigree dog such as a poodle on the streets, I came up with the only logical answer an 11 year old could come up with in order to make the story work.  The dog was abandoned because it was French.  Genius!

Since then I have written a book about foxes that had a higher death-count than any Tarantino film (including Kill Bill) and a book about the plague which had a higher death count than the book about foxes.  My fiance has since requested i don't write any more 'realism-based' books as it's not right to introduce characters with the express purpose of killing them off and, besides, the local foxes are getting twitchy.

None of these books have been published by the way.  Considering they were children's books, that's probably a blessing.

I came up with the Rodent Rebels ideas while living in Plymouth with the other half.  So far the first drafts have been written for 8 stories, and the final draft of story one has nearly been finished and will soon be presented to agents and publishers.  You can follow my progress in the Rodents Rebel Blog.

As for me?  Well, I'm 26, slightly dumpy, living in a chaotic flat where I'm totally dominated by our 8 pet rats.  I live in London and do have a proper job.  I am a fairly active member of the UK rat-keeping population, I have a slight obsession with the Phantom of the Opera.  I don't know what else to tell ya!
